Beyond our love for fungi as food—which you can find at local restaurants and markets—we’re also passionate about their healing powers for both people and the planet. We grow, dry, and hand-create small-batch medicinal mushroom products, too: supplement powders for coffee/tea/smoothies, sublingual dual extraction tinctures, and skincare products such as lotions and face serums.

Additionally, we compost all our spent substrate so nothing goes to waste! Mushroom compost is an excellent and essential soil amendment & we believe fertile soil is the foundation for all life! Our medicinal mushroom products & compost (for small or large-scale growers) are available for local pickup/delivery and online!

Mason & Krystal
We grew up in Boone, NC, went to high school & college here, learned how to farm here, fell in love with mycology (and each other) here, & we plan to stay here... "𝔥𝔢𝔞𝔯, 𝔥𝔢𝔞𝔯!"

Obviously, "Local" is important to us. We care deeply about this town, our community, and these mountains―collectively they're our home & we're committed to serving, stewarding, and nurturing them.

Mason- Referred to by the family as "Paul Bunyan" (not to be misconstrued with excessive logging―Mace is our very own ecologically conscious forest steward). In the winter he's the reason we're warm, if it's broken he'll fix it, if there's a need he'll build it. Got a problem? He's already on the way. He's a capable, machine savvy, resourceful, compassionate, and bashful mountain man with the biggest heart.

Krystal- I went to App State for Sustainable Agriculture and grew extremely passionate about social/environmental justice & soil fertility. I decided to further my education obtaining a master's degree in environmental science where I focused on food security/sovereignty & mycology. I felt then as I do now, this is my purpose.

Mycelium is essential for soil structure & fertility, integral for growth & sustenance, and massively beneficial for human & environmental health/healing―So when we got the opportunity to continue the Boone Fungi legacy...aka producing food & medicine for people and the soil via growing mushrooms, it was basically the easiest decision ever.
Fungi is among the first complex biotic organisms on earth, and is responsible for developing soil, establishing ecosystems for life to survive & symbiotic relationships with life to thrive. Fungi has been referred to as "the interface between life and death"―without it, there'd be no plant's, no animals, and no US! The entire intricate web of life is entangled and interconnected through the vast mycelial network―Thus, our perception and relationship with fungi is a profoundly spiritual (and arguably scientifically supported) one!
Maybe we're nuts, Maybe we're fungi's ;)
